A lovely card from Aruba! Thank you Denise! I love the cards you send to me! You are such a lovely person ♥♥

This is one of the three islands in the West Indies called dutch antillies or ABC-Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao). You speak there an awesome creole language called Papiamentu. I study lingusitics and I love such languages! Is it not just wonderful how a language changes? It it stands never still ♥
Wonderful Aruba

Oranjestad, Aruba

Bondia amigus!

Here is a great card I got from Sascha! Thank you very much! Now I have got the A and the C of the ABC islands! How great is this?

Aruba  is a 33-kilometer-long  island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea, located 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela and approximately 130 km east of Guajira Peninsula. Together with Bonaire and Curaçao, it forms a group referred to as the ABC island of the Leeward Antilles, the southern island chain of the Lesser Antilles. Aruba and all the Dutch islands in the Antilles together, are commonly referred to as the Netherland Antilles (or the Dutch Antilles).

Oranjestad  is the capital and largest city of Aruba. Oranjestad is located on the southern coast near the western end of the island country. In the local language, Papiamento, Oranjestad is often referred to simply as “Playa”.

Curaçao, ABC-Islands (the Netherlands)

Hallo vrienden!

Curaçao is an island in the southern Carribean Sea, off the Venezuelan coast. The Country of Curaçao, which includes the main island plus the small, uninhabited island of Little Curaçao, is a constituent monarchy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its capital is Willemstad.

Curaçao is the largest and most populous of the three ABC-islands (for Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao) of the Lesser Antilles, specifically the Leeward Antilles. It has a land area of 444 square kilometres (171 square miles). As of 1 January 2009, it had a population of 141,766.

Great card!!
