G’day mates!

I received this great card via the official postcrossing site from Australia! Thank you very much philocartist!

On the card, there is something interesting to read:

The Aboriginals are the earliest-known inhabitants of Australia, having lived in the country for at least 40.000 years. For thousands of years, the Aboriginals were hunters, food gatherers and fishermen. They have their own religious beliefs and explanations for the pattern of the world they saw about them.

I love the smile on these childres faces. They look so happy ♥

Blue Mountains National Park, Autralia

Hello peeps!

Here comes a gorgeous card from Australia! Thank you Krystiina! Love it ^_^

The Blue Mountains National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia.  Despite the name ‘mountains’, the area is an uplifted plateau, dissected by a number of larger rivers. The highest point in the park is Mount Werong at 1,215 metres above sea level; while the low point is on the Nepean River at 20 metres above sea level as it leaves the park.

It is also UNESCO World Heritage!

G’day mates!

I got this very nice card from Don via official postcrossing! Look at the stamps! They are from the Christmas island! That is so cool!
Don tells me that there are about 70% chinese population on the christmas island, so that is maybe why the stamp has a chinese theme. Love it!
On the card you can see a horse drawn tram way in southern Australia.
I would love to sit on that wagon ♥ ♥

Aboriginal Australia

G’day mates!

An awesome card I received via official postcrossing from Jess! Thank you so much I adore this card!
On the back of the card there is a quote from an aborigine and I think you are gonna find this just as wonderful as I do:

The earth is our mother. She gives us life, fire, water, food and shelter. When we die we return to the Earth. To wear the colours of the Earth on our bodies when we dance is to show respect for the Earth, our mother.

I am very facinated by the culture of the native people of Australia.

**Buchtipp für alle deutschen Leser: Abby Lynn von Rainer M. Schröder. Gibts leider nicht auf englisch greift aber sehr viel aus zur Aborigine Kutur auf! Lesenswert!!

G’day mates!

Here goes a card I got from Australia! Thank you Matt!
I do not know if I already mentioned it, but I love the band “die ärzte” german punkrock deluxe! I was last year on a concert and it was just awesome! Matt in far-away Australia also knows them. So cool 🙂 He also asked me what a good spaish Ska band is. Well for all of you: SKA-P is the best! I was on a concert of them too. Just some months ago. If Matt ever steps by: here goes one of my favourite songs:

BTW the card shows a very lovely lighthouse in Byron Bay! Very lovely!

Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Australia

G’day Mates!

A great card from Australia! Thank you Yor!

The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was conceived and largely built by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, opening in 1973 after a long gestation that had begun with his competition-winning design in 1957. Joseph Cahill’s New South Wales Government gave the go-ahead for work to begin in 1958. The government’s bold decision to select Utzon’s design is often overshadowed by the scandal that followed. The Sydney Opera House is on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It sits at the northeastern tip of the Sydney central business district (the CBD), surrounded on three sides by the harbour (Sydney Cove and Farm Cove) and inland by the Royal Botanic Gardens.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, New South Wales, and Australia. The bridge is nicknamed “The Coathanger” because of its arch-based design.

Great card!
