Hola amigos!

Another gorgeous card from Peru! Thank you very much Vanessa! ♥

Lima is the capital and the largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, in the central coastal part of the country, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Together with the seaport of Callao, it forms a contiguous urban area known as the Lima Metropolitan Area. With a population approaching 9 million, Lima is the most populous metropolitan area of Peru, and the third largest city in the Americas (as defined by “city proper”).

Did you know?

The potato is originally from Peru, and there are over 3,000 different varieties. Proud Peruvians use the phrase “Soy mas Peruano que la papa” (I am more Peruvian than the potato)

Hola amigos!

This is a wonderful card I got from Vanessa in Peru! Thank you so much! I love it! Peru is a very diverse country. There are so many ethnies! It is just awesome!

The children on this card are natives from Cabanaconde, a district in Peru.
Aymará, ad Quechua re widely spoken native languages. I am a language freak and I would love to learn Quechua someday. You can learn it at our university… Well, we’ll see 😉

líneas de Nacza, Peru No. 2

Hola amigos!

Waaaaaaaaaaahhh!! This card took almost 2 months to reach me! But it was definetley worth to wait for it! I think I have mentioned it in Nazca, Peru No.1
I
LOVE THESE LINES!! They have enchanted me all over, and I think it is a shame, that there are so many people who haven’t got any clue what they are about.

I really want to see them one time with my own eyes. Did anybody of you see them once?

I send love!

líneas de Nazca, Peru

Hola amigos!

I really have to say, I never thought I would get a card of the líneas de Nazca!
When I was back in school I once had to write an essay about the líneas de Nazca and I really have to say that they have enchanted me all over. So thank you very very very much Dani. I really LOVE this card. Actually I was thinking about doing the “mono” (1st picture) as a tattoo. What do you think?

The Nazca Lines  are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. They were designated as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1994.

I think I know about EVERYTHING about thes lines, but here are some things I think you might find interesting:

As the lines can can only be seen from above they werefirst discovered in the 1930ies. They even builded a motorrail through it without noticing what they were doing.

They are some theories about the origine of the lines of Nazca. One is for example, that the straight lines are landing strips for spaceshuttles. Another (more likely one) is that the lines are sort of a calendar.

I love these líneas! They are so great ^_^

I send love!
