El Morro, Puerto Rico

004 005

Hola mis amigos!

I received this wonderful card from Lino! I found her on interpals and this card needed almost 4 months to get to me! Happy me when I finally got it ^_^

Castillo San Felipe del Morro also known as Fort San Felipe del Morro or Morro Castle, is a 16th-century citadel located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

You might notice the US stamp. That is because Puerto Rico is a US territory. Every person born in Puerto Rico is also a US citizen.

Vieques, Puerto Rico

Hola amigos!!

Jeii! I got another very gorgeous card from my list of my missing countries! Love love loveeee it!!! Muchisimas gracias Eduardo! Es una postal estupenda!!

Vieques, in full Isla de Vieques, is an island–municipality of Puerto Rico in the northeastern Caribbean, part of an island grouping sometimes known as the Spanish Virgin Islands. Vieques is part of the United States Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, but, like the rest of Puerto Rico, retains strong influences from 400 years of Spanish ownership.

The island’s name is a Spanish spelling of a Native American word (likely Taíno) said to mean “small island”. It also has the nickname “Isla Nena”, usually translated from the Spanish as “Little Girl Island”, alluding to its perception as Puerto Rico’s little sister. During the colonial period, the British name was “Crab Island”.
