Xin chào bạn bè!

Apirak says hi again! This time from Saigon in Vietnam! Thanks for the great card! I hope you still managed to have some dog meat ^^ Although I don’t think I’d eat that haha
Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named and still also referred to as Saigon), is the largest city in Vietnam. It was once known as Prey Nokor, an important Khmer seaport prior to annexation by the Vietnamese in the 17th century. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam 1955–75. On 2 July 1976, Saigon merged with the surrounding Gia Định Province and was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after revolutionary leader Hồ Chí Minh (although the name Sài Gòn is still unofficially widely used).
Did you know?
Being built in the 19th century by French colonists, Saigon Notre Dame is an icon of HCMC. Besides serving for religious purpose, this church is also one of the tourist attractions in HCMC and among the favorite sights for couples to take their wedding photos. (You can see the church on the card!).

picking Lotus in Vietnam

Yeey another great card from Vietnam! This one I swapped on instagram ♥ Thank you very much Hoai. Such a beautiful card
Lotus flower has been regarded as Vietnam’s national flower. It symbolizes the beauty, commitment, health, honor and knowledge as it grows from the muddy pond but their seed grow toward the direction of the sun light, which represent the purity of spirit. Lotus is said to be the symbol of summer as it often blossoms in summer time when there is a lot of bright sunlight. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again.
Did you know?
Different part of lotus can be used for different purposes: the flowers are used for praying; the seeds are used for making lotus tea and medicine while the green leaves are used to wrap chicken rice- a very delicious dish.

Xin chào bạn bè!

Apirak is traveling again! This time in Vietnam! Awesome 😀 Thanks a lot 🙂

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the country’s second largest city. From 1010 until 1802, it was the most important political centre of Vietnam. It was eclipsed by Huế, the imperial capital of Vietnam during the Nguyễn Dynasty (1802–1945), but Hanoi served as the capital of French Indochina from 1902 to 1954. From 1954 to 1976, it was the capital of North Vietnam, and it became the capital of a reunified Vietnam in 1976, after the North’s victory in the Vietnam War.
