bonjour ħbieb!

I received my second ever received card from Malta! Yay! Thank you so much Chris ♥

Malta, officially known as the Republic of Malta, is a Southern European island country consisting of an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea.  It lies 80 km south of Italy, 284 km east of Tunisia, and 333 km north of Libya. The country covers just over 316 km2, with a population of just under 450,000, making it one of the world’s smallest and most densely populated countries. The capital of Malta is Valletta, which at 0.8 km2, is the smallest national capital in the European Union. Malta has two official languages: Maltese and English.

Salut mes amis!

I was a little lazy with updating my blog recently, forgive me – I am still here 😉

I received this card from Roshan in Mauritius 😀 So beautiful, thanks a lot Roshan ♥

Mauritius lies in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar. The volcanic main island of Mauritius is ringed by coral reefs; there are some 20 smaller islands. The islands were ruled in turn by the Dutch, French, and British, whose legacy includes a parliamentary form of government. Independence came in 1968. Diversifying sugarcane farming with manufacturing and tourism strengthens the nation, a blend of Africans, Indians, Europeans, and Chinese.

The Dodo, which is the national bird of auritius, is an extinct species of a flightless bird, which was a resident of this island, centuries ago. Dodos were found only on this island and nowhere else in the world.

Faces of Ecuador

Hola amigos!

About a week ago I turned 24 and one of my best gifts was to be able to celebrate it with mi hermana de mis pensamientos which stayed in Ecuador these past 6 months to study. Quite at the right time she came back to give me this beautiful card for my birthday! Danke Dani! Du bist die Beste ♥

Ecuador, is a representative democratic republic in northwestern South America, bordered by Colombia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Ecuador also includes the Galápagos Islands in the Pacific, about 1,000 kilometres west of the mainland.

Antwerp has long been an important city in the Low Countries, both economically and culturally, especially before the Spanish Fury (1576) in the Dutch Revolt. Jersey, Channel islands

001 002

Hello there friends! Bouônjour!

It has been a while since my last post, but here I am back with this beautiful and special card from the tiny Channel island Jersey! Thank you so much Mel!!

Funny story. I contacted Mel for a private swap and she just got the adress of my mother from the official postcrossing! What were the odds?! This was really weird and yet cool somehow 😀

The island of Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands. It is very close to the french coast and because of that french is also widely spoken on Jersey. Also, it has a an own regional language called Jèrrias.

Lisbon, Portugal

olá amigos!

Today I finally got another card via official postcrossing! This time from the capital of Portugal, Lisbon! Thank you very much Alice!
There are a lot of nice buildings on the card, starting with the Rua Augusta Arch in the backround. Alice writes, that it was built to commemorate the reconstruction of the city after the big earthquake in 1755. There are also the Praca do Rossio, the statue in Praca do comercio, the monument to the dicoveries, which celebrates the Age of discoveries, a view of Rua Augusta and finally the Praca do Marquis de Pombal.

It really looks very beautiful! My family on my fathers side was a real globetrotter when my father was little. They actually lived a couple of years in Lisbon, both of my aunts where born there. I was never there, but I’d really love to one day.
